In Ecuador, the celebration of the New Year is by making figures, dolls that represent the “old years”.
These dolls, figures, are made of old clothes and stuffed with newspapers.
These “old years” represent the good and the bad (mainly the bad) of the year that ends, being burned in this ritual to leave behind and give entrance to the New Year;
A year full of hope, health and happiness.
